Going for Gold: Compete in the Inaugural Zynga International Games

by on August 1, 2012

Like the rest of the world, here at Zynga we’ve been eagerly anticipating the arrival of the Summer Olympics.  We take play and competition very seriously and will be watching along as the best of the best in each country vie for their chance at glory. But because most of us will never get a chance at gold, we wanted to give our players the opportunity to experience the sensation of international competition by doing what we do best: playing! So today we are thrilled to unveil the Zynga International Games, where our players are the star athletes.

We’re bringing the heat to our arcade titles: Bubble Safari, Ruby Blast and Zynga Slingo.  Starting today through August 12, players have the chance to connect with others and compete for their country against other nations in a battle of wits and skill. You no longer have to be an athlete (or even run a mile) to win for your nation. And while you won’t be going for actual gold, we have some surprises in store for the winning team.

Here’s how to get started:

  1. Join: Starting today, July 30, players will be able to sign up for a country team directly through the Inbox of Bubble Safari, Slingo and Ruby Blast.
  2. Choose: Pick from 80+ possible countries you want to represent in the games based on your nationality, affection for an underdog or just your favorite!
  3. Play:  Compete in Bubble Safari, Ruby Blast and Zynga Slingo to win the title for your chosen nation. You collect points every time you score a medal in Slingo, earn a star in Bubble Safari and collect a super ruby in Ruby Blast. It’s that easy!
  4. Watch: Through August 12, watch the Zynga International Games leaderboard which will track the leading countries in real time.
  5. Collect: Final results will be available after August 12, and awards will be given to players from the winning countries.

So stretch those quads, er fingers, put your game face on and join us for the 1st annual Zynga International Games. Check out your inbox today in Bubble Safari, Zynga Slingo and Ruby Blast for more info!
