Saving the World, One ‘Stache at a Time!

by on December 6, 2012

If you’ve noticed an exuberant amount of mustaches this month, you’re not alone. There is a special cause behind the Handlebar, Fu Manchu, and Dali – Movember. If you’re not hip to the ‘stache, Movember is an annual fundraiser to create awareness for men’s health causes. The funds raised through the “Mo Bros” will go directly to programs run by Movember and their men’s health partners, the Prostate Cancer Foundation and LIVESTRONG Foundation. Zynga is proud to have been a part of the action and had over 90 employees participate from all around the world, raising $12,524! Let’s give a round of applause to the selfless men of Canada’s Hair of the Dog, Ireland’s Team Wear Beard and Team Zyngites, Seattle’s appropriately named Team Seattle and Team Zynga out of the San Francisco Headquarters.

Who says facial hair can’t have an impact? Check out these other fun mustache facts:

  • In a deck of cards, the King of Hearts is the only king not to have a moustache.
  • Police in a district in India’s Madhya Pradesh state are being paid to grow mustaches because bosses believe it makes them command more respect.
  • On average a man with a moustache touches it 760 times a day.
  • The world’s longest moustache is believed to be a 14ft monster belonging to Ram Singh Chauhan of Rajastan, India, who regularly massages it with mustard and coconut oil to keep it healthy.

Take a look at our top mustaches. We’ve included some hilarious photos of those who took the “official Zynga badge” photo with their lip warmers!
