Words With Friends “Love Letters”: Sisterly Connection Stays Strong Through Play

Every day, millions of players connect and compete through word-play in Words With Friends.  Our third annual Valentine’s Day in-game survey asked our players to share their stories of how they’ve connected with their family, friends and even random opponents.  We’re inspired by the hundreds of stories we’ve received showcasing how our players thrive on competition and use their word-rivalry as a meaningful way to stay connected with one another.  We can’t think of a better time than Valentine’s Day week to share players’ “love letters” in their own words.  We hope you’re inspired by their wordie connections as much as we are!

Dear Words With Friends,

There is nothing quite like the connection you have with your sister. When I was younger, my sister and I would do everything together – we were two peas in a pod and talked all the time.

Then, life happened, as it does to everyone. Although we’re still best friends, we’re now states apart (me in Ohio and her in New York) and much busier (me with a new baby and her with work and school).  We no longer have time to talk every day and tell each other every little detail – not because we don’t want to but just because we’re purely too busy.

But we’re still able to connect every day, thanks to Words With Friends.

I downloaded the game six months ago, after my sister suggested it would help keep my mind off of feeling sick while I was pregnant. Well, she was right about that – I’m hooked on this game! But, more importantly, it reconnected me with my sister.

When we play Words With Friends, I feel like she is in the room with me. I get excited when I hear the notification that she has made her move. It has created a way to us to quickly connect every day. We challenge each other a minimum of twice a day.  Although in reality we are miles apart, the miles feel far and few between now!
